Photos that help: documenting a damaged order properly

Good photos can settle a claim before any back-and-forth.

The five shots

1. The outside of the package with the shipping label visible.
2. The package opened, showing how the item was packed.
3. The whole item in good light.
4. A close-up of the damage or the difference from the listing.
5. A screenshot of the product page you ordered from.

Tips

• Use daylight and avoid heavy filters.
• Place a coin or ruler in frame if size matters.
• Name files with the order number.

Keep the item and packaging until the matter is closed.
